Protecting children from violence is recognised as a priority in numerous laws and important strategic documents of the Republic of Serbia. In order to provide an efficient answer to violence against children, among other things, it is important for institutions in every local government to cooperate. Bases for their cooperation are agreements, whose signatories should be representatives of all relevant institutions and organisations.
Researchshows that, in most local agreements, protecting children from violence is only one of the themes, while only nine are directed exclusively to protecting children from violence (from the total of 134 analysed).
Guidelines which reveal how to get as efficient institutional response to violence against children on the local level as possible are proposed within the Citizens’ Network for Peace, Reconciliation, and Human Security.
