The needs assessment report of advisors employed at the agricultural advisory and professional service of Serbia (PSSS) is aimed at assessing the current capacities of PSSS employees to provide their services in a gender-sensitive and gender-responsive manner.
The publication thoroughly describes the services provided by PSSS employees as well as an overview of the legislative framework that determines the responsibilities of PSSS. It then analyzes, through a gender perspective, the advisors’ views on gender equality, their assessment of the state of gender equality in working with clients, and their perception of strengthening their own capacities regarding new knowledge on gender equality. Finally, it presents recommendations for improving PSSS services based on the assessment of the current state.
Together with the baseline report, this publication serves as a foundational basis for a project supporting the enhancement of the capacities of agricultural advisory professional services in Serbia. The project was developed as part of a collaboration between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, which have signed a Memorandum of understanding with the Republic of Serbia to implement joint activities aimed at strengthening Serbia’s agri-food sector.
