This publication aims to provide a foundational basis for a project supporting the enhancement of the capacities of agricultural advisory professional services in Serbia. The project was developed as part of a collaboration between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, which have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Republic of Serbia to implement joint activities aimed at strengthening Serbia’s agri-food sector.
The baseline report offers broader insights into the state of gender equality in the agriculture sector, the family farms that are the direct beneficiaries of these services, as well as the regulatory framework and policies that define the conditions in which women and men engage in agriculture. Finally, it presents recommendations for improving the services of PSSS (Agricultural advisory and professional service of Serbia) based on the needs and observations of current or potential users.
