On September 26th the first meeting of the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) Task Force, dedicated to issues of migration, refugees, and asylum seekers was held in Brussels. At this meeting the newest trends and policies in controlling migration flows implemented by EU members and candidate countries were discussed. Stefan Stefanovic, a researcher of SeConS, presented the data about the current state in this area in Serbia.
The aim of this working group is to determine the attitude of EAPN about these issues, as well as the ways it will influence EU institutions and national governments to conduct migration management policies which fully adhere to human rights of migrants.
EAPN was founded in 1990 and has been working on creating social Europe free of poverty and social exclusion, in which everyone will have an access to economic, social, and cultural rights. On the initiative of SeConS in 2010 the Anti-Poverty Network was founded in Serbia.
