The European Semester must become a strong, democratic instrument that can build a better Social Europe. It was concluded at the seminar held in the European Parliament, which was led by the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN). The seminar was attended by Marija Babovic, director of programme at SeConS, the organization that is, as a member of the Anti-Poverty Network – Serbia, part of the EAPN.
The aim of the seminar was to consider to what extent the European semester focuses on social rights, poverty and participation, and to open discussion on the necessary changes that would enable progress towards a social Europe. The event was organized at the time of the adoption of 2017 Annual Growth Survey and the upcoming public hearing on the European pillar of social rights.
The seminar was attended by MEPs, the European Commission and civil society representatives.
